Passport
Obviously, you'll need to bring a valid passport to enter Croatia. Double check the expiration date on your passport and make sure it will be valid in October 2026. As of this writing, there are no visa requirements or travel alerts for US citizens traveling to Croatia, but check the U.S. Embassy in Croatia site for the latest news.
Getting to Croatia
Airfare is not included in the trip fee, you must make your own arrangements. The cruise departs from Dubrovnik and ends in Trogir; Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is closest to the departure point, Split Airport (SPU) is closest to the end point.
Travel Insurance
You are not required to purchase travel insurance, however, some travelers do. There are many coverage options, from emergency medical insurance only to full trip coverage. If you haven't purchased travel insurance before, one place to start your search might be your current insurance company.
Luggage
Since our cruise is on a small private yacht, think carefully about your luggage. You probably want to avoid large, hard-sided roller bags. Lightweight carry-on or backpacks will probably work best. The article linked below offers some good tips, just keep in mind there are affiliate links so the product recommendations may be biased.
Packing
October is a "shoulder season" and a great time to travel. Crowds are usually lighter than the peak summer season while the weather is usually still gorgeous. However, it can be unpredictable so layering is a good idea. Read the article linked below for suggestions, and again, there are affiliate links so specific product recommendations may be biased.
Cell Phone Service
Whether or not your mobile phone will have cellular data in Croatia depends on your mobile carrier plan. If your plan does not include international service, and if you want to use cellular data, then you can get a SIM card. Some phones use physical SIM cards, others use eSim cards. If you have questions, a good place to start is to ask your carrier.
Powering Your Devices
Croatia used Type C electrical outlets, which are common in Europe. You'll need to get a plug adapter in order to power your electronics.
