About the Event
Join the Hikeyentes for one of Portland's classic hikes through beautiful Forest Park! We'll follow the scenic Lower Macleay Trail alongside Balch Creek, pass the historic Witch's Castle stone ruins, and climb through towering Douglas firs before reaching Pittock Mansion. At the top, enjoy spectacular views of downtown Portland, Mount Hood, and the Cascade Range (weather permitting).
This moderately challenging 5-mile round-trip hike gains approximately 900 feet of elevation and is expected to take about 2½ to 3 hours at a comfortable pace.
Date: Saturday, August 23
Departure: Leave promptly at 8:00 AM – please arrive early so we can organize carpools, complete introductions, and hit the trail on time.
